Discover the Damariscotta River where 80 % of Maine oysters are farmed during our narrated Oyster Farms and Seal Watching Tours! Our boat tours take in the river's wildlife and history, and its new role in oyster farming. You'll see harbor seals in action, bald eagles and ospreys soaring above the coves, as oyster farmers raise very tasty oysters.
The 2-hour boat rides are educational and equally entertaining, with the world famous Damariscotta River oysters served at the Bar on board. Fun for all ages! Had a great trip! Saw bald eagles, ospreys, and a bunch of other birds. Captain Chp was a great source of info and humor. Olga was excellent and served drinks and fresh oysters! Be sure to look out for the oyster fishermen in their native habitat, especially in the hot summer months!
My husband and I really enjoyed our cruise along the river. As we started our trip out our captain began to tell us many different interesting things about the area, oyster farmers and loads of history. He also had a wonderful sense of humor that he shared with us all along the way.
