Historically, Greenville is known as the Textile Capital of the World. But all that changed in the late 20th century as the textile industry mostly moved overseas. However, Greenville was already positioned to absorb the exiting industry, as business leaders around the world who had worked with Greenville companies wanted to be here.

And its citizens, along with the strong leaders of Greenville, have created a place in the upstate of South Carolina that continues to receive prestigious awards and flattering and rave reviews. The growth in the brewery industry has exploded and with it, the time has come for Greenville to host its own Brews Cruise!

Our brewery tours offer both residents of Greenville and guests (along with our southern hospitality) the opportunity to safely and easily visit multiple breweries, taste plenty of samples, learn the brewing process, see behind-the-scenes where the beer is made and talk to the people who make it.Without question, taking a tour is the best, safest, most fun way to dive into the Greenville craft beer scene!

Mark & Trish Lyons officially launched the Asheville Brews Cruise tour in 2006.
At that time, there were only four breweries operating in Asheville and the craft beer scene was just beginning to develop.
The Lyons' goal was to create something to enhance the burgeoning craft beer scene and showcase a unique side of Asheville.
They wanted to create a mobile tour experience that would be educational, connective, and above all: a fun way to experience locally crafted beer.
The tour was a hit!
Visitors to Asheville loved it, and locals loved to show off the beer scene when they had friends or family visiting and have someone else to do the driving.
Hops signed on with Greenville Brews Cruise for the chance to share his love of craft beer.
He also is excited for you to hear the unique stories and meet the interesting people behind each of the breweries on our tours.
So is Hops a city mouse or a country mouse?
Living in Greenville, he has the best of both worlds, and he wants you to enjoy our town - and all it has to offer - as much as he does.
Those Mice on Main have a pretty good gig, but Hops is eager to be able to show you the great and innovative things happening all over the Greenville area!
