Alaska & Beyond
Want to avoid the crowds and still have all the comforts? I arrange luxury and casual small ship cruise vacations for individuals and families, in Alaska and worldwide. I am passionate about the small ships, both adventure/expedition and luxury all-inclusive, for unparalleled access to wildlife and wilderness scenery, away from the crowds.ahhh! And in this time of social distancing, there is no better time to move over into the "small ship camp"!.

The internet is great, but no point & click website/app can match professional personal travel planning for YOUR special vacation!. And if you call a cruise line direct, you're just getting one perspective on one aspect of your trip. Do you think they know if a different itinerary or cabin or cruise line would be better for YOU?. I book primarily small expedition ships (20-100 guests ) and mid-sized luxury all-suite lines (200-1000 guests) as well as River Cruises worldwide.

Small ship cruising can be as casual or luxurious as you want, whether in Alaska, Antarctica, Costa Rica, or down the Danube.
Services
The travel industry has changed drastically with the internet.
The need for a friendly navigator through the overwhelming amount of information is higher than ever before.
I have been booking Alaska for MANY years and my experience can help make a good trip into a great one!
My preferred affiliations and volume allows me to pass along discounts and valuable amenities (on most departures of larger ships and tours) not available anywhere else, including booking directly with suppliers.
Small ships don't have many discounts or amenities to get you to book- they don't need to!
The founder of Alaska and Beyond, Patty Crichton, is no stranger to the travel/cruise industry.
After her first cruise in 1981, she was sold on the concept of cruising and began a long career that will continue until that last cruise into the sunset!
She managed one of the first cruise-only agencies in the country way back in 1981.
She had the opportunity to sail on many ships, including many cruise lines that are no longer around, like Sitmar, Royal Viking Line, and American Hawaii Cruises.
It was when she sailed on Holland America for a Thanksgiving cruise that something clicked.
Patty is a cruise industry veteran.
She opened one of the first cruise-only agencies in the'80s in Tucson, then worked onboard the Holland America ships in Alaska, Panama Canal, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
After being transferred to Michigan, she opened the first Alaska-only agency where she was a top office for both Holland America and 2 Alaska small ship companies.
After literally hundreds of Alaska trips, she still has a passion for the Great Land.
Today she specializes in high-end casual and luxury small ships to Alaska, away from the crowds, as well as hand-picked quality land companies, and River Cruises too!
Here are some common questions/comments to ask yourself or me to get started: (answers not provided because they're different for everyone!)
My friends recommend Regent which includes everything- air, drinks, tips, and shore excursions.
We usually get a balcony suite on Holland America- which is the best deal?
We really like how the small ships focus on wildlife and scenery with casual dress, but they are more expensive.
Why, and is it worth it?
I have helped people plan their Alaska trips for many years.
I am passionate about these Alaska small ship cruises for avoiding the crowds and really experiencing Alaska up-close.
Now's the time to book your small ship cruise for next summer; some itineraries and cabins sell out a year or more in advance.
Call/email me for brochure or info today.
Forget the dress-up clothes and the crowds.
Alaska small ship cruises appeal to those who want a casual, soft adventure (as opposed to rugged backpacking) with gourmet cuisine (can you say Alaska King Crab and Alaska Salmon-yum!
